How Prayer Can Help You Manage ADHD Symptoms Prayer is an effective tool that can help manage ADHD symptoms. Research has shown that it can reduce anxiety and improve mood, which are two common challenges faced by people with ADHD. Additionally, prayer can help you focus your thoughts and attention, which can be beneficial when managing distractions and impulsivity. You can use scripture as a source of comfort and inspiration. For example, Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” I have learned to pray about everything, no matter what it is. When I am frustrated or have no clue why I feel the way I do, I pray. Incorporating prayer into your daily routine can be a simple and effective way to manage ADHD symptoms. You can set aside time each day to pray or incorporate prayer into daily activities, such as before meals or bedtime. Mindfulness and meditation on God’s Word can also be beneficial for managing ADHD symptoms, helping to improve focus and attention while reducing stress and anxiety. Psalm 46:10 (NLT) reminds us, “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Call to Action: Consider incorporating prayer, mindfulness, or meditating on a scripture into your daily routine to help manage ADHD symptoms.
