Conquering Fear and Mind Battles for a Fresh 2024 Start / Personal Growth, Spiritual Growth / By Coach Kenya Joy As we approach the dawn of 2024, I eagerly anticipate a renewed opportunity to pursue my goals and dreams with unwavering determination. Like many, however, I’ve experienced the initial enthusiasm wane as fear and negative mindsets seep into the process. This year, I’m determined to take a fresh approach, armed with insights gained from reflecting on past challenges, including those associated with ADHD. The Battle of the Mind and ADHD: Living with ADHD presents a unique battlefield of the mind, where thoughts—both positive and negative—constantly bombard us. Addressing this mental struggle is easier said than done, but it’s crucial. Drawing inspiration from 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLT), which urges us to capture rebellious thoughts and align them with Christ, we find that filtering our thoughts through the Word of God is instrumental in gaining control over the mind. Fear – the Dream-Slayer: Recognizing fear as a dream-slayer is paramount. This deceptive emotion has the potential to sabotage the very best that God has in store for us. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) emphasizes that fear does not come from God; instead, He blesses us with a spirit of power, love and self-discipline. Armed with this knowledge, we can dismantle the lies fear attempts to plant in our minds. Fear operates as a subtle force, weaving a narrative that contradicts the divine plan for our lives. The challenge lies in whether we will allow fear to dictate our journey, especially amidst the complexities of battling negative thoughts and ingrained mindsets. Moving Forward in Confidence: Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT) serves as a reassuring anchor in our battle against fear. It reminds us not to succumb to fear or discouragement because the Lord personally goes ahead of us. His unwavering presence guarantees that we will neither be forsaken nor failed. This biblical truth empowers us to march confidently toward our goals, liberated from the chains of fear. As we stand on the precipice of a new year, let’s make a deliberate choice to shed the weight of fear, negative thoughts, and old mindsets. By aligning our minds with the truth of God’s promises, we position ourselves for a fresh start in 2024. Fear, recognized for what it is—a liar and a dream-slayer—should not dictate our journey. Instead, let our path be marked by the courage to pursue our goals and dreams with unwavering faith in God’s plan. Let’s Chat!
