Confidence and Self-Esteem in the Holy Spirit / ADHD, Holy Spirit, and Me / By Coach Kenya Joy I understand firsthand the struggles of low self-esteem and a lack of confidence, particularly as a woman with ADHD. For many years, these were challenges I struggled with constantly. There were moments when I would start to feel good about myself and gain a little confidence, only to have those positive feelings crushed by hurtful comments or negative experiences. The overwhelming sense of not being good enough hindered me from pursuing my goals and dreams. Despite my attempts, the opinions of others, coupled with my own negative self-perception, became obstacles that prevented me from moving forward. It was as if these feelings were restricting my progress, blocking me from reaching my full potential. However, it is in this very struggle that the Holy Spirit intervened. As I embarked on my journey of prayer and sought comfort in the presence of the Holy Spirit, a transformative process began. The Holy Spirit ministered to my wounded spirit, gently removing doubt and fear from my life. It was not an instant fix; rather, it required a continuous and deliberate surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit. Each day, I had to invite the Holy Spirit to operate freely in my life, granting Him full access to every area. Releasing the feelings of doubt and fear to the Holy Spirit became my way of finding healing and restoration. I learned to trust that the Holy Spirit, with His infinite wisdom and love, could guide me toward a healthier self-image and a renewed sense of confidence. By surrendering my insecurities and allowing the Holy Spirit to work within me, I experienced a profound transformation. Through the Holy Spirit’s influence, I began to see myself through a different lens. His presence ignited a sense of worth and purpose within me that transcended the opinions of others. The doubts that once plagued my mind were replaced with a newfound assurance. The fears that held me back no longer had a grip on my progress. With the Holy Spirit as my guide, I started to recognize my true potential and embrace the journey of self-discovery. While the process was gradual, the impact was undeniable. Day by day, the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance reshaped my perception of myself. His love and grace permeated every aspect of my being, freeing me from the chains of self-doubt. The Holy Spirit’s work in my life allowed me to step into a place of confidence and self-acceptance. In walking alongside the Holy Spirit, I have learned that my worth is not defined by external validation or my own fleeting feelings. Rather, it is rooted in my identity as a beloved child of God. Through His transformative power, the Holy Spirit has enabled me to rise above the limitations of low self-esteem and embrace a renewed sense of confidence. I am no longer held back by the opinions of others or my own negative self-perception. Instead, I am empowered to live out my purpose and reach my full potential. Trusting the Holy Spirit and giving Him access to my life has been a journey of liberation.
