Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
Some of you have been carrying shame as if it were part of your personality. You have tried planners, alarms, routines, and “getting serious,” but the minute life shifts or your focus wavers, everything falls apart, and you blame yourself again. For many women, especially those who live with distracted minds or fluctuating energy, this cycle can feel exhausting and defeating. Hear me, that cycle is not the will of God for you. You do not need a stricter system; you need a strong identity rooted in God. When your identity is anchored in God, your habits stop being forced and begin to bear fruit.
Rooted in God’s Word, Not Performance
Before any habit can last, identity must be formed, and that identity is shaped by renewing the mind in God’s Word. Scripture reminds us in Ephesians 4:23 (NLT), “Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.” That renewal is neither rushed nor forced. It happens when you stay rooted in God’s Word long enough for it to reshape how you see yourself. For me, this began with prayer and time in the Word, not as a task to complete, but as a relationship to build. The more rooted I became, the clearer my identity grew, and consistency followed naturally. I was not trying to create a habit. I was becoming the woman God was shaping.
Restoring the Mind Changes How You Move
Restoration shows up in how you move. When your mind is renewed, your actions follow naturally. You begin to notice that your habits are no longer rooted in fear of falling behind, but in agreement with who God says you are. This is identity in motion. You are not pushing yourself forward; you are walking from a place of knowing. What once felt difficult now feels doable, because restoration removes pressure and replaces it with purpose.
When Identity is Released, Habits Follow
When identity is released, habits no longer come from pressure; they come from purpose. This is where alignment becomes visible. I am anointed, so I listen before I move. I am whole, so I build habits that protect peace, not performance. I am chosen, so I move intentionally, not urgently. These are not just declarations…they are guides for daily movement. When you know who you are, you begin choosing habits that agree with that truth.
Before you rush to change anything, pause and notice what is already trying to grow. Where have you been forcing habits that were never rooted in identity? And where might God be inviting you to realign, not strive? Becoming is not about fixing yourself. It is about agreeing with who God says you are and allowing your habits to follow. Let this be a season where you stop trying harder and start moving from truth.
Let’s Pray…
Father God, thank You for renewing our minds and anchoring our identity in You. Help us release pressure, striving, and comparison, and walk in alignment with who You say we are. As we become rooted in Your Word, allow our habits to reflect truth, peace, and purpose. Teach us to move intentionally, listen closely, and trust the work You are doing in us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
