Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
I know what it feels like to sense God leading you forward while fear is still trying to talk you out of moving. The what-ifs get loud, the questions multiply, and even when your heart says, “Lord, I trust You,” your actions may still hesitate at the edge of obedience. I remember being in prayer and hearing the Lord ask me, “Will you trust Me?” My immediate response was yes, because of course, I believed I trusted Him. Yet the more I sat with that question, the more I realized my words and my movement were not always saying the same thing.
As I continued praying, I sensed Him speak again, “If you trust Me, take the leap of faith.” That simple statement exposed something I had not fully acknowledged. I was saying I trusted God, yet whenever He nudged me toward something unfamiliar, I immediately questioned the outcome. I wanted certainty before obedience. I wanted reassurance before movement. Looking back, I realize I was asking God to prove Himself before I was willing to prove my trust.
That conversation with God changed the way I approach every season of growth. “Growth requires movement” has become more than a meaningful phrase. It has become a reminder that becoming the woman God created me to be will always require a response. As I have rooted myself more deeply in His Word, surrendered my own understanding, and taken steps of faith, I have watched fear lose its grip. Every act of obedience has strengthened my confidence in God more than my confidence in myself.
When Comfort Becomes Your Safe Place
Confidence that comes from God is never meant to leave us standing still. It gives us the courage to take the next step, even when we cannot see the entire path ahead. Many of us desire growth, yet we hesitate when growth requires movement. We remain in what feels familiar because it seems safer than stepping into the unknown. The challenge is that what feels comfortable is not always where God is calling us to remain.
Waiting Until You Feel Ready
One of the greatest obstacles to growth is believing we have to feel ready before we move. We convince ourselves that if we pray a little longer, wait a little longer, or gather a little more confidence, then we will finally take the step God has placed before us. More often than not, God is not waiting for us to feel ready. He is inviting us to trust Him enough to move while we still feel uncomfortable. Faith is not the absence of fear. Faith is choosing obedience even when fear is present.
Strength Comes Through Christ
Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:13 (NLT), “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” This verse is often quoted when we face difficult situations, yet its deeper truth is just as powerful. Our confidence is not rooted in our own ability. Our strength comes from Christ. That means we do not have to wait until we feel capable before we obey. We can move because He is strengthening us every step of the way. We do not move because we feel capable. We move because He is.
Becoming Her in Motion
Growth does not happen all at once. It happens one faithful step at a time. Take a moment this week to ask yourself, “Where is God inviting me to move?” Resist the temptation to focus on the entire journey. Instead, identify one area where you have been hesitating because of fear, uncertainty, or discomfort. Then choose one act of obedience that moves you forward. It may be a conversation you have been avoiding, an opportunity you have been delaying, or a step of faith you have been questioning. Whatever it is, remember that your confidence is not found in having all the answers. It is found in the One who is leading you. Growth requires movement, and we move because He is.
Let’s Pray…
Father, thank You for reminding me that growth requires movement. Forgive me for the times I have allowed fear, uncertainty, or comfort to keep me from taking the steps You have placed before me. Help me to trust You more than I trust my own understanding. Give me the courage to move forward, even when I cannot see the entire path.
Thank You for being my strength. Your Word reminds me that I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Teach me to depend on You rather than on my own abilities. As I continue becoming the woman You created me to be, help me to walk in obedience with confidence, knowing that every step I take with You leads to growth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
