Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
It is often said that trust must be earned. When I look back over my life, I can say with confidence that God has earned mine. At the end of last year, I made a decision that I could not continue living the same year over and over again. I knew something had to shift because fear had caused me to retreat, hesitate, and hold back from what God was calling me to do. I kept waiting for some undeniable sign from the Holy Spirit that would make moving forward feel safe, but that moment never came. Eventually, I had to decide whether I would keep waiting for certainty or trust the God who had already proven Himself faithful.
The Comfort We Keep Waiting For
Have you ever felt God leading you in a direction that stretched you beyond what felt comfortable? Deep inside, you know what He has spoken. His direction is not the problem. The problem is that one small seed of doubt begins to grow through every “what if” and every imagined outcome.
So we wait.
We wait for God to say it again. We wait for another confirmation. We wait for someone we trust to tell us we are hearing Him correctly. We wait for circumstances to line up perfectly. Most of all, we wait for that feeling that tells us we are finally ready.
The truth is, we are not usually waiting on God. We are waiting to feel comfortable.
The Battle Behind the Fear
The enemy has always understood the power of purpose. He knows that every step of obedience moves you closer to becoming the woman God created you to be. That is why fear is one of his greatest strategies. If he can keep you questioning what God has already spoken, he can keep you standing still.
The battle is rarely about your ability. It is about your agreement. Every time we allow fear to have the final word, we give it permission to keep us from moving forward. Every time we choose to trust God instead, we weaken fear’s grip and strengthen our faith.
Fear keeps asking for another confirmation. Faith remembers the One who has already been faithful.
That is the shift. Boldness is not the absence of fear. Boldness is choosing to trust God enough to move, even when fear is still trying to convince you to stay where you are.
God’s Presence Changes Everything
The Bible tells us in Joshua 1:9 (NLT):
“This is my command, be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua was stepping into a season that was much bigger than he felt prepared for. Moses was gone. The responsibility now rested on his shoulders. There were battles ahead, unfamiliar territory to enter, and people looking to him for leadership.
Notice what God did not promise Joshua.
He did not promise that every obstacle would disappear. He did not promise that fear would never show up. He did not promise that every step would feel comfortable.
He promised His presence, and that changes everything.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned during this season is that God’s presence changes how I see every situation. There was a time when I believed I needed one more confirmation before I could move forward. Today, I realize I already have what I need. The God who called me is also the God who goes with me.
Instead of asking for one more confirmation, I have learned to put my trust in the One who already has every answer. His presence gives me the courage to take the next step, even when I cannot see what lies ahead. That is where boldness takes root, not in what we know, but in who God is.
Becoming Her in Motion
Take a moment to reflect. Where have you been asking God for another confirmation when He has already made His direction clear?
Think about the times He has carried you, provided for you, opened doors, and remained faithful when you could not see the outcome. Let those moments remind you that the God who has brought you this far will continue to lead you.
Now ask yourself one honest question:
What would I do if I fully trusted God in this area?
You do not have to figure out the entire journey today. Simply take the next step. Trust that His presence will meet you there.
Let’s Pray…
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for always being faithful, even when fear tries to make me forget. Thank You for reminding me that my confidence is not found in having every answer, but in knowing You. Forgive me for the times I have waited for more confirmation when You had already made Your direction clear.
Help me to trust You more than I trust my fears or my feelings. Give me the courage to take the next step, knowing that Your presence goes before me and remains with me every step of the way. Teach me to become the woman You created me to be, rooted in who You are, confident in Your promises, and bold enough to trust You with every step. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
