How to Celebrate Small Victories and Recognize God’s Presence Daily / ADHD, Holy Spirit, and Me, Spiritual Growth / By Coach Kenya Joy As Christian women, our spiritual journey can be a beautiful yet challenging path, filled with ups and downs. And for those of us who navigate this journey with the added layer of ADHD, the path may sometimes feel a bit more complex. It’s essential for all of us, regardless of our circumstances, to learn how to celebrate small victories and recognize God’s presence every day. Embracing Small Victories When you have ADHD, it’s essential to celebrate small victories on your journey of faith. It’s easy to be hard on ourselves, especially when we don’t complete a project or finish a task. But in this walk with God, it’s crucial to recognize that every step forward is a victory in itself. Celebrating these small milestones can help build momentum and keep you encouraged. The Bible reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV), “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” This passage encourages us to find reasons for joy and thanksgiving in all situations. Even the smallest victories are reasons to give thanks, for they are all part of God’s plan for your life. Recognizing God’s Presence Daily Acknowledging God’s presence in your daily life is a powerful way to navigate the challenges of living with ADHD. In Psalm 118:24 (NIV), we are reminded, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Each day is a gift from God, and in recognizing it as such, you can find reasons to be glad, even in the smallest moments. To spend time in God’s presence daily is to cultivate a deeper relationship with Him. Just as you intentionally set aside time for tasks and appointments, make a deliberate effort to carve out moments for God. Whether it’s through prayer, reading Scripture, or simply being still in His presence, these daily practices help you recognize that God is with you in every step of your journey. Philippians 4:4 (NIV) encourages us to “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” Rejoicing in the Lord can encompass celebrating even small victories that come from His grace. As you rejoice in His presence, you’ll find that your spiritual journey becomes a source of joy and encouragement, even in the face of challenges. Being Mindful of God in Everyday Life Colossians 3:17 (NIV) tells us, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” This verse encourages us to recognize God’s presence in everything we do and to be thankful for it. In our daily lives, both big and small actions, we can choose to be mindful of God’s involvement. Whether it’s completing a household chore or making progress on a personal project, doing it in God’s name and with gratitude can transform mundane tasks into moments of divine connection. Every Good Thing Comes from God James 1:17 (NIV) reassures us that “every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” This verse reminds us that all good things, including small victories, come from God. Recognizing His hand in even the smallest aspects of our lives can deepen our sense of His presence. Praising God Always Psalm 34:1 (NIV) declares, “I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” Praising and recognizing God’s presence daily can lead to celebrating the small victories that He provides. Every step of your faith journey, no matter how small it may seem, is worth celebrating, as it reflects God’s faithfulness and grace in your life. In our spiritual journey, especially when navigating it with ADHD, it’s crucial to celebrate the small victories and recognize God’s presence daily. The Bible offers us valuable guidance in these aspects, emphasizing the importance of rejoicing, being thankful, and acknowledging God’s involvement in every facet of our lives. By embracing small victories and recognizing God’s presence in daily activities, we can find joy and encouragement, even in the midst of life’s challenges. Every step you take is a part of your journey with God, and it’s worth celebrating. May you continue to grow in faith and recognize the abundance of God’s presence in your life, one small victory at a time. Let’s Chat!
