Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
Who are you becoming? I have been sitting with that question because my answer today is different from what it would have been several months ago. Life has challenged me in ways I never expected. I have faced fear, disappointment, uncertainty, and setbacks. Through it all, my faith in the One who has all the answers has never wavered. Somewhere in the middle of it all, God began revealing a strength in me that I had not fully recognized before. The journey did not destroy me. It developed me. It pushed me deeper into God’s presence, strengthened my faith, and introduced me to a version of myself that refuses to be ruled by what she has survived.
God is Shaping You
What I have discovered is that every season has been shaping me into the woman God always intended me to become. Fear did not have the final word. Disappointment did not define me. Every challenge became an opportunity to trust God more deeply and grow stronger in my faith. Looking back, I can see that God was not simply changing my circumstances. He was changing me.
Perhaps the same is true for you. The very battles you wish had never happened may be the same battles God is using to build your character, strengthen your faith, and deepen your dependence on Him.
Growing Into Spiritual Maturity
The Apostle Paul gives us a beautiful picture of spiritual maturity:
“When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.”
1 Corinthians 13:11 (NLT)
Paul is not simply talking about growing older. He is talking about growing spiritually. There comes a point in every believer’s life when God begins calling us higher. He invites us to let go of old ways of thinking, old fears, and old patterns that no longer align with who He created us to be. Becoming requires growth, and growth always requires change. Becoming the woman God created you to be is not about changing your personality. It is about allowing Him to mature your character.
The Battle Behind Your Becoming
The enemy has one assignment: convince you to believe a lie and reject the truth.
He whispers that you are not enough, that you have missed your opportunity, that your past has disqualified you, or that you will never change. Those lies only have power when we agree with them instead of agreeing with what God has already spoken over our lives.
Perhaps this is why the battle has felt so intense.
The enemy is not fighting who you used to be. He is resisting the woman God is shaping you to become.
He knows that a woman who knows who she is in Christ walks differently. She prays differently. She makes decisions differently. She no longer agrees with fear, insecurity, or the lies that once kept her stuck. She understands that her identity was established by her Creator long before the enemy ever tried to challenge it.
Over the past several months, we have been bringing truth to light, one blog at a time. This month, we are taking the next step. We are becoming the women God created us to be.
You are God’s masterpiece. You are not defined by your mistakes, your disappointments, or the opinions of others. Your identity has already been settled by the One who created you. Every step of spiritual maturity is teaching you to believe His voice over every other voice.
Becoming Her in Motion
This week, before making an important decision, ask yourself one simple question:
What would the woman God is shaping me to become choose in this moment?
When fear reminds you of who you used to be, intentionally remind yourself of who God says you are. Refuse to rehearse old labels, old disappointments, or old insecurities. Instead, choose to think, speak, and respond from the truth of God’s Word.
Every decision you make this week is another opportunity to walk as the woman you are becoming, not the woman God has already called you beyond.
Let’s Pray
Father, thank You for loving us enough to shape us into the women You created us to be. Thank You that every season, every challenge, and every act of obedience is working together to develop our character and deepen our faith.
Forgive us for the times we have believed the enemy’s lies more than Your truth. Help us to silence every voice that contradicts what You have already spoken over our lives. Remind us daily that our identity is secure because it is rooted in You.
Teach us to think, speak, and respond with spiritual maturity. Give us the courage to let go of old mindsets and fully embrace the woman You are shaping us to become. May our lives reflect Your character, our decisions honor Your will, and our confidence rest in Your unfailing love.
Thank You for calling us Your masterpiece. We choose today to agree with Your truth and continue becoming all You created us to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
