Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
Over the years, I have experienced many things: hurt, pain, disappointment, and grief. Some of those places in my heart were so painful that I learned how to push them down, hold them in, and keep moving as if everything was fine. In this season of Becoming Her, I am learning that healing in every area is necessary, even in the parts of me I do not talk about, the parts I tried to hide, and the places that still need God’s touch.
The Parts You Don’t Talk About
There are things we have experienced that we simply do not talk about. Not because they do not matter, but because they hurt. So we carry them quietly, bury them deeply, and tell ourselves we are fine. Hidden wounds still need healing. The truth is, God is concerned with those places just as much as the parts of our lives we openly share.
Rooted: Inviting God Into the Hidden Places
Let’s go back to the foundation, God’s Word. Psalm 139:23–24 (NLT) says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” This is a call to be open before God. Even though He already knows, He is waiting for us to come to Him and lay everything at His feet. The places we have hidden, the emotions we have buried, and the pain we have avoided all matter to Him. When we invite God to search our hearts, we open the door for true healing to begin.
Restored: When God Reveals, He Begins to Heal
As we invite God to search our hearts, He begins to reveal the areas that need healing. Some of what comes up may be things we tried to forget, moments that still carry pain, or emotions we never fully processed. This is where restoration begins, not in rushing past the pain, but in allowing God to meet us in it. He does not expose us to shame, He reveals so He can heal. What God brings to the surface, He is faithful to restore.
Released: Letting Go and Trusting God With the Pain
As the Holy Spirit brings those hurts, pains, and wounds to the surface, there is an opportunity to release them into God’s hands. This is not always easy. There may be moments that feel overwhelming or even unbearable. Yet God is present in every step of the process. He is holding you, even when it feels like you cannot hold yourself together. As you release what you have been carrying, trust that He is carrying you through it. You will not be left in the fire. God will bring you through, and you will come out stronger.
Healing is not always easy, yet it is necessary. In this season of Becoming Her, God is calling you deeper, beyond what is seen and into the hidden places of your heart. You do not have to carry it all. You are safe with Him. As you continue to open your heart, allow Him to search, reveal, and heal every area. This is where true transformation begins, rooted in Him, restored through Him, and released into the life He has called you to walk in.
Becoming Her in Motion
Take a few quiet moments this week and sit with God. Ask Him to search your heart and reveal anything that needs healing. Write down what comes up, even if it feels uncomfortable. Do not rush the process. Bring it before God and allow Him to meet you there.
Let’s Pray…
Father,
I come before You open and honest. You see every part of my heart, even the places I have tried to hide. Search me and reveal anything in me that needs Your healing touch. Give me the strength to face what You bring to the surface and the trust to release it into Your hands. Heal every hidden wound and restore what has been broken. I surrender it all to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
