Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
When you are carrying something meaningful, it is natural to want clarity before you move. You want confirmation, direction, reassurance, and some sense that everything is going to work out. I understand that feeling because I often want to know the details before I take the step. Yet becoming the woman God is calling you to be will sometimes require movement before certainty. Often, God asks for obedience before He provides clarity.
Learning to Release Control
One thing I have realized during this Becoming Her journey is how easy it is to confuse control with wisdom. Wanting to think things through is not wrong. Wanting to be prepared is not wrong either. Yet there are moments when overthinking becomes hesitation, and hesitation keeps us standing still in places where God is calling us forward. Fear often demands guarantees before action, while faith requires trust before results become visible.
Becoming Her requires a different kind of trust, one that is willing to move even when every question has not been answered yet.
Trust Beyond Understanding
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5 (NLT): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” That scripture sounds comforting until God asks us to trust Him in situations where we cannot fully see what He is doing. Trusting God with all your heart means releasing the pressure to figure everything out before you obey. It means choosing faith over the need for constant reassurance. It means becoming the kind of woman who trusts God’s direction even when the details are still unfolding.
Taking the Next Step Anyway
Obedience does not always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like taking one small step forward while still feeling uncertain. Sometimes it looks like applying for the opportunity, starting the project, having the difficult conversation, or finally releasing what God has been telling you to let go of. Clarity does not always arrive before movement. Many times, God reveals direction through obedience one step at a time.
The next step may feel uncomfortable, uncertain, or even stretching in this season. That does not mean God has abandoned you. Sometimes the greatest growth happens when we stop relying on our own understanding and begin allowing trust to lead us forward one step at a time.
Becoming Her in Motion
Ask yourself honestly: Have you been waiting for perfect clarity before taking the next step God has placed on your heart? This week, focus on letting go of the pressure to have every answer before you move forward. Pray, seek wisdom, and take the next step in faith, even if it feels small.
Let’s Pray
Father, help me trust You beyond what I can fully see or understand. Teach me to let go of the need to control every outcome and to strengthen my faith to move forward in obedience. Remind me that You are guiding my steps even when the path feels unclear. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
