Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
One thing I know for sure is that, moving forward, when you cannot see the full picture, it can feel uncomfortable. You feel the pressure to have the whole journey figured out before you take the next step. You want clarity before movement, confidence before obedience, and visible results before consistency. Yet, spiritual growth does not usually happen that way. God often develops us through daily trust, small steps, and quiet obedience that may not seem significant at first. The challenge is learning to trust God with what He has not revealed while remaining faithful to what He already has.
When Fear and Control Work Together
Last week, we confronted fear. This week, I want to challenge something that often hides beneath it. Sometimes what looks like fear is really our struggle to release control.
Ask yourself this question: Is it truly fear of the unknown, or is it discomfort with not being in control?
For many of us, it is a combination of both. When we do not know how something will unfold, our minds immediately begin searching for answers. We want a plan, a timeline, and some guarantee that things will work out. Yet, trusting God has never been about having all the answers. It has always been about believing that the One leading us is trustworthy.
Growth happens when we stop demanding full visibility and start responding to the light God has already given us.
God Gives Light for the Next Step
Psalm 119:105 (NLT) says, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path”
A lamp was never intended to illuminate miles ahead. Its purpose was to provide enough light for the next few steps. That picture alone changes the way we view obedience.
Many of us become frustrated because we are asking God for details about next year while He is speaking to us about today. We want clarity about the destination while He teaches us faithfulness on the journey.
Trusting God does not require having the entire path mapped out. It requires confidence that the One directing your steps sees what you cannot. Every act of obedience becomes an opportunity to strengthen that trust.
What Walking in Obedience Looks Like
Walking in obedience becomes easier when you stop viewing it as a performance and start viewing it as alignment. The goal is not to prove your faith to God. The goal is to align your life with what He is already showing you.
Every time you choose trust over control, faith over fear, or consistency over perfection, you are taking another step forward. Those decisions may not feel significant in the moment, yet they are shaping the woman God is calling you to become.
Growth rarely happens all at once. It is built through small decisions repeated consistently over time.
The Woman You Are Becoming
Many women assume purpose is something they discover all at once. In reality, purpose is often revealed through consistent obedience over time. The woman God is calling you to become is not formed in a single moment. She is shaped through daily decisions to trust Him, follow His leading, and remain faithful to what He has placed in front of her.
Every step of obedience strengthens your confidence in God’s voice. Every act of trust deepens your relationship with Him. Every moment of consistency helps establish the spiritual rhythms that support long-term growth.
The journey may feel slower than you expected, yet God is not only concerned with where He is taking you. He is also concerned with who you are becoming along the way.
Becoming Her in Motion
Take a moment and ask yourself these questions:
What is one step God has already shown me that I have been delaying?
Am I waiting for more clarity when God is asking for greater trust?
What would change if I stopped focusing on the entire journey and concentrated on being faithful to the next step?
This week, release the pressure to have everything figured out. Focus on what God has already placed in front of you. One act of obedience may seem small, yet those small steps often become the foundation for the purpose God is unfolding in your life.
Let’s Pray
Heavenly Father, thank You for being trustworthy in every season of my life. Help me release the pressure to have everything figured out and teach me to walk by faith, one step at a time. Strengthen my heart when uncertainty arises and remind me that Your Word provides the light I need for today. Help me remain consistent, obedient, and aligned with Your will as You continue shaping me into the woman You have called me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
