Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
Peace is something I strive for daily. I’ve learned that peace is not something you can force; it is something that flows from what you are rooted in.
What shapes your thoughts, your responses, and your perspective will always determine what you experience internally. You cannot expect to live in peace while being rooted in things that keep you unsettled.
There are moments when your thoughts feel steady, and then there are moments when everything shifts. What felt certain begins to feel unclear. What felt calm becomes overwhelming. Before you realize it, your peace feels inconsistent.
The issue is not always what is happening around you. It is often what is happening within you.
Why Peace Feels Inconsistent
Peace often feels inconsistent because what is shaping your thoughts keeps changing.
When your thoughts are led by how you feel in the moment, they will never remain steady. Emotions shift, circumstances change, and when your thinking is anchored in those things, your internal world will shift with them.
You can feel one way in one moment and think one thing, then feel differently later, and your thoughts follow that shift. This constant movement creates instability, making peace feel temporary instead of steady.
What You’re Rooted in is Shaping You
Your peace is being shaped by what you are rooted in.
If your thoughts are rooted in fear, uncertainty, or emotional reactions, your responses will follow that pattern. What takes root in your mind will always show up in your life.
Peace becomes difficult to maintain when you are expecting stability from things that were never meant to hold you.
Peace Comes from a Fixed Focus
Peace does not come from trying to control everything around you. It comes from being rooted in something that does not change.
Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) says, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.”
Peace is not produced by circumstances; it is sustained by where your focus is placed. When your thoughts are fixed on God, your mind has something steady to return to, even when everything around you feels uncertain.
A fixed focus creates internal stability. When your thoughts stop shifting with every feeling and begin to align with the truth, your peace becomes consistent.
Becoming Her in Motion
Becoming Her requires you to guard your mind intentionally.
Peace will not remain where your thoughts are unprotected. You have to become aware of what is shaping your thinking and make the decision to realign.
This looks like:
-
- Recognizing when your thoughts are being led by emotion
- Interrupting patterns that pull you out of alignment
- Refocusing your mind on what is true
When you learn to guard your mind, you begin to protect your peace.
Let’s Pray…
Father, Thank You for the promise of peace that comes from fixing my thoughts on You.
Help me to guard my mind with intention. Show me where my thinking has been shaped by emotion instead of truth. Give me the discipline to realign when my thoughts begin to shift.
Teach me how to stay rooted in what does not change. Let my focus remain on You so my peace can be steady.
I choose to align my thoughts with Your truth. I choose to protect my peace.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
If you’re beginning to recognize the internal work God is doing in you, this is only the beginning.
