Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released
Giving yourself permission to heal can be harder than it sounds. It requires you to be open, honest, and willing to acknowledge that some wounds need more time than you expected. While it is often easy to understand that healing is a process for other people, it can be much harder to accept that truth for yourself. We tend to place pressure on our own hearts, expecting quick recovery in places where God is still doing deep work. But the Lord is not rushing your restoration. He is patient, intentional, and aware of every fragile place within you. What feels slow to you may actually be the gentle pace of His healing hand.
When Hidden Wounds Begin to Surface
As I have shared in previous blog posts, during this season of becoming her, I have discovered areas of my heart that were still wounded by past hurts and disappointments. These were places I believed I had already healed from and moved beyond. When those areas resurfaced, the pain did not feel as intense as it once had, but I began to recognize that the wound had not fully closed. Instead of ignoring it, I realized that the healing process had already begun. What had once been hidden was now being brought into the light. The Holy Spirit gently revealed those places so the deeper work of healing could continue.
God Heals the Heart with Care
Just as a physical wound requires time and care in order to heal properly, the wounds within our hearts also require attention and patience. When the body is injured, the wound must be cleaned, protected, and allowed to recover gradually. If it is ignored or continually aggravated, healing becomes much more difficult. The same principle applies to the deeper places of the heart. God does not overlook the areas where we have been hurt. He carefully tends to them, restoring what has been wounded and strengthening what has grown fragile. Psalm 147:3 reminds us of this truth: “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” Healing may unfold slowly, but every step forward reflects the faithful work of God within you.
Giving Yourself Permission to Heal
This week, I want you to give yourself permission to heal slowly and gently, allowing God to lead the process. It can be easy to look around and measure your healing against what you see in others, but every journey of restoration is different. God is not asking you to rush through the places that still need care. Instead, He is inviting you to walk closely with Him as He continues to restore your heart. Just as physical wounds require time, attention, and protection in order to heal properly, the deeper wounds of the heart also require patience, honesty, and the steady guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Becoming Her in Motion
Take a quiet moment this week to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any area of your heart that still needs gentle care. Instead of judging what you see, simply acknowledge it and place it in God’s hands. Healing does not require you to rush forward. It simply requires your willingness to let God continue the work He has already begun in you.
Let’s Pray…
Lord, thank You for tending to the wounded places in my heart with compassion and patience. Help me release the pressure to heal quickly and trust the pace of Your restoration. Give me the courage to be honest about what still needs healing, and the faith to believe that You are faithfully at work within me. Guide me as You continue restoring my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
