You’re Carrying More Than You Realize

Becoming Her: Rooted, Restored & Released

God never meant for you to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Some of the pressure, responsibility, and emotional weight you have been feeling may have developed over time through experiences, expectations, and internal narratives that were never meant to define you. In this season of Becoming Her, God is not asking you to ignore what you have been carrying. He is inviting you to recognize it, bring it to Him, and begin releasing what was never yours to hold.

Recognizing the Weight You’ve Been Carrying

Much of what you have been carrying is not always obvious at first. It shows up in the way you think, the way you respond, and the quiet pressure you place on yourself to keep everything together. Over time, these patterns become familiar, and what once felt temporary begins to feel like a normal part of who you are.

Some of that weight is connected to internal narratives you have accepted as truth. The belief that you have to be strong at all times, that you have to figure everything out on your own, or that everything depends on you can create a level of emotional and mental pressure that was never meant for you to carry.

What This Weight Is Really Connected To

The weight you have been carrying is not just about what you do; it is deeply connected to how you see yourself. It is tied to who you believe you have to be, what you feel responsible for, and what you think you have to hold together. When identity becomes shaped by pressure instead of truth, it creates a cycle where you keep carrying more, even when you are already overwhelmed.

Some of these beliefs were formed in moments where you had to be strong, where you had to step up, or where no one else showed up the way you needed. Over time, those moments can turn into internal expectations that say you always have to be the one to handle everything. What once helped you get through a season may now be the very thing weighing you down.

Not All Weight Is Yours to Carry

In the middle of everything you have been carrying, God offers a different way. His invitation is clear and personal: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

This is not just a comforting scripture; it is an invitation to release what has been weighing on you. God never asked you to carry everything on your own. He is calling you to bring the weight, the pressure, and the responsibility you have been holding onto and place it in His hands. Rest begins when you respond to the invitation.

What Needs to Be Released

Not everything you have been carrying was meant to stay with you. As awareness increases, you may begin to recognize areas where you have taken on more than God required of you. This can look like holding on to outcomes, managing how everything unfolds, or carrying responsibility for things outside your control.

What needs to be released is not always external; it is often internal. The need to control, the fear of what will happen if you let go, and the belief that everything rests on you can create a weight that keeps you from fully resting in God. Releasing these things does not mean you stop showing up; it means you stop carrying what God never asked you to hold.

Becoming Her in Motion

Take a moment to pause and ask yourself, what have I been carrying that God never asked me to hold?

Write it down without overthinking it. Let it come to the surface honestly. Then, one by one, begin to release those things to God in prayer. You do not have to figure out how everything will work out. Your role is to recognize the weight and give it back to Him.

Let’s Pray…

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for revealing what I have been carrying. Thank You for showing me that not everything I have taken on was meant for me to hold. I bring every burden, every pressure, and every expectation to You.

Help me to release what is not mine and to trust You with what I cannot control. Teach me how to walk in Your rest, and not in my own strength. I choose to let go and place everything in Your hands.

In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
